TFU vs Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast?

Well I got The Force UNleashed (TFU) a few days ago and so far I'm disappointed.

The controls and camera don't play well together so it makes it a little annoying to dodge or block things I CAN'T SEE. Another thing that is nagging at me is that you cannot stop to dodge or block while using force powers or dodging and especially being a JEDI you should. It also takes quite a few strikes to kill with your lightsaber and there isn't any DISMEMBERMENT.

In my opinion its the smooth controls that makes or breaks a game. simply put it, I don't FEEL like a jedi in The Force Unleashed. In Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast the controls are done SO well with the keyboard that nothing compares to the feeling of dispatching stormtroopers with your light saber. Its one of those games that are SO GOOD it ruins everything else because nothing else simply doesn't even compare.

What I liked about Jedi Knight 2
Stabs, back stabs, horizontal, vertical, diagonal saber attacks in any direction in combination of seamless movement controls and virtually one slice kills makes it total bliss. Not to mention the ability called force speed, which slows everything down to 20% EXCEPT your own character for i think five seconds? You could take that FIVE seconds and bring down TEN storm troopers and watch them virtually all drop at once when force speed ends.

The only thing I really find my self experiencing new in TFU is the ability to pick up items and throw them but that's about it. Jedi Knight 2 had everything else and the controls make it a MUCH better experience. If ONLY they would make a game with Jedi Knight 2 controls with The Force Unleashed engine, it could have had the potential to be an outstanding game.

The only reason I'm playing through this is forthe story gap between episode III and IV. I do NOT see my self replaying through it again, but I do see my self re-installing Jedi Knight 2 and replaying that for the..... fifth time?

Gurren Lagann Movie Trailer ...

Actually its not a movie trailer but its one HELL OF AN AMV!!! I mean seriously pdfarsight did an incredible job on this. The Audio from 300 matches perfectly and the beauty of it is that it actually makes sense in the context of the show. (well not all of it but enough)

300 + gurren lagann = OMG

--- on a side note my brother borrowed my camera on his trip to Europe so I can't take any pictures of my new figures D:

Buying anime digitally?

So I wanted to see Gurren Lagann's dubbed episodes and wondered where I could possibly find it. Seeing how my cable company doesn't provide the sci-fi channel I had to resort to downloading it from somewhere or buy the DVD. Now the DVD isn't expected to be out until sometime in NOVEMBER so that would mean I would have to download it somewhere.

Where could I look? oh I know the itunes store! perfect! So I do a search and I got no results for 'gurren' eventually figured out that I was searching in the CANADIAN itunes store! So I switched it over to the US store and searched once again.

I found it!GURREN LAGANN SEASON PASS For 50.99!!! or 2bucks an episode. So excited I went through all the steps to create an account.

then after typing all that registration ... i get this

"This recipient requires that you have a valid funding source from United States in order to complete this transaction."

WHAT THE HELL!? I can't even buy it if I wanted to! So I got to wait for the DVD.
I live in Canada and we should be able to access the same kind of things that US can but no, we can't. The only reason I would want to digitally buy something is that I want to follow the series as it airs and support the show!!!. Is that so much to ask? In my opinion, this is the kind of shit that forces people to end up downloading it illegally because its sometimes impossible to get it legally.

I'm sure its like this for the rest of the world too so what are your thoughts on this?

-- oh and if anyone knows of a good place to buy anime digitally with a decent resolution hook me up~

GoodSmile Company in ENGLISH!

From Random

GoodSmile Company is now available in english!!!

Ever since Dannychoo.com released news of this revelation you can bet that otakus everywhere are quick to post the news on their own blog! This being one of them~ I've been to Goodsmile's (GSC) japanese site so many times and wish I could read it without having to only look at the pictures.

Color scheme is virtually identical to Dannychoo.com and the layout is obviously different but still feels familiar to regular visitors to Danny's blog. It feels so similar to Danny's site that he could have just made a tab at his own site linking you to Goodsmile and new visitors probably wouldn't even notice!

however on the japanese site there isn't a link to the english site yet? oh wait never mind I think Danny mentioned it was a beta or something so no biggie right?

Now we just got to wait for the english site to have an online shop so we can possibly buy directly from Goodsmile! woot woot! and now a random thought: Godzilla vs a giant Goodsmile mascot would be a great fight.

Now episode one ain't done without episode two!!!!

1/4

2/4

3/4

4/4

i just hope they have a decent price on the dvds, some series end up being like 150+ bucks for the series if you buy DVDs separately. Then they end up releasing the box set for like half the price.

I been relying on youtube for the dubs, its annoying but worth the trouble because Gurren Lagann is just too good.
